The story of Los Pericos begins in 1986 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It all started with a group of friends who would get together to play the music they loved—covers of Jamaican legends like Toots & The Maytals, Bob Marley, and Peter Tosh. Their name, "Los Pericos" (Spanish for "The Parakeets"), was chosen for being "a bird from warm places," a perfect symbol for the tropical rhythms they were about to bring to the Southern Cone.
