The 2009 remastering of Rio was a significant undertaking. Unlike earlier CD transfers, which were often criticized for being "flat" or lacking dynamic range, this version was meticulously remastered from the original tapes. The result is widely considered the definitive digital edition of the album. The remaster job is very nice. This is easily the best Rio has ever sounded and probably ever will sound given the inherent flaws in the master tape.
